Aelius Stilo

Lucius Aelius Stilo (known as also Lucius Aelius Stilo Praeconinus ), in French Élius Stilon, born with Lanuvium (in the Latium, today in Italy) towards 154 av. J. - C. - died in Rome in 74 av. J. - C., was a Roman Grammairien.

This stoical knight shared his life in Rome between teaching (he was Master of Varron and Cicéron) and philology, science which he inaugurated.

Its work almost entirely disappeared. He wrote comments on the anthems of the Saliens and on the law of the Twelve Tables as well as a study on Plaute.
