Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising is a Video game left on Game Boy Advance. It is the direct continuation of the first Advance Wars, left on this same console.

Scenario

Black Hole returns with at its head, the Sturm general and four of his henchmen: Helmut, Kat, Adder and Maverik. The four nations will have each one to push back the enemy generals, namely Helmut for Orange Star, Kat for Blue Moon, Adder for Yellow Comet and Maverik for Green Earth.

Principle of the Play

As in first Advance Wars, you direct on a squared chart your units that you will have progressively to build advance of your part. Each mission of the play offers only one objective to fill , generally the total annihilation of the enemy camp, the capture of the General headquarter of your enemies, the sabotage of a gun…

Among the kinds of units, one distinguishes the infantry, the vehicles (which go from the transport of troops light in Néo Tank, most extremely of all the ship, tanks) and aviation.

On the chart, neutral and/or enemy buildings (that can be cities, factories or even the enemy HQ can be taken by your men (only by the infantry or the groups of Bazookas).

Innovations

There are some innovations: new types of grounds, a rather special campaign, a new CO by army, except Black Hole , which it, has 4 of them. There is no more mode Entraînement , and for those not having never played with Advance Wars first of the name, the first missions of the countryside summarize the explanations necessary rather well to play. The addition of a Super CO capacity is also present. This one being, for the majority of the generals, a capacity longer to have than the old one. One also notes the absence of the ranks .

Improvement of the IA

In this opus, one does not notice the changes brought to the IA. Having analyzed the tactics of the enemy in Versus, I noticed that several large défaults had been corrected:
  • Protège its HQ
  • deals of the gasoline and the ammunition from its units.
  • does not direct any more its units per order of the type (Infantries, then Mech, etc)
  • Vue limited at the time of a Fog of War in Versus.

These are only the corrections that I saw. I am unaware of however so some of them were already present at the time of the first shutter.

but some defaults persists however

  • the IA always aims the infantries then the units of indirect combat which always leaves powerful units of direct combat (tank M néotank etc) unscathed

  • it always deploys in an order rather precise
