Adrien Languillat
Adrien Languillat , born with Chantemerle, district of Épernay (the Marne), the September 28th 1808, deceased with Shanghai the November 30th 1878, was a bishop French member of the Society of Jesus. He was bishop of Sergiopolis, apostolic vicar of the province of Nankin and honorary member of the Société of Agriculture, Commerce, Sciences and Arts of the Marne .
Biography
Adrien Languillat took the orders with Châlons-sur-Marne and was placed at once as vicar in the Notre-Dame parish, from where it was called soon with the cure of the church Saint-Alpine of Châlons.
In 1841, it entered the Society of Jesus and left in China like missionary.
In 1857, it was crowned bishop in partibus of Sergiopolis, and was named apostolic vicar of the province of Nankin.
It had come, in 1867 to re-examine the native land, and turned over to China after three months of stay to France.
