Adrien Goetz
Adrien Goetz , born in 1966 with Caen, is a writer French. He is also researcher and teaching in the field of the Histoire of art.
Biography
After a formation with the College Malherbe of Caen in Normandy and with the Louis-the-Large College with Paris, it was raises with the National university, street of Ulm, where it obtained the aggregation of history. After a thesis of doctorate of history of bearing art over the romantic period, he teaches today at the university of Paris Sorbonne. He lived also and worked with the the United States where he was T.A. in French literature with Université of Yale and in Italy, in Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa.Its work of historian of art led it to be interested in Ingres (it in particular published in 2006 an innovative test, Ingres Collages , accompanying an exposure of which he was the police chief with the Ingres Museum of Montauban and to the Museum by the Art schools of Strasbourg) but also in Honore de Balzac (Adrien Goetz prefaced and commented on its novel on art, the unknown Masterpiece ).
Its first novel, Webcam , very noticed had as a hero an imaginary contemporary artist, who pointed out a little the figure of Balthus. Its second novel, Dormeuse of Naples , gained in 2004 the price of the Two Nest eggs and the Roger-Nimier price. Dormeuse of Naples tells the imaginary adventures of an authentic masterpiece lost by Ingres in 1815, during Grande Odalisque of Louvre, throughout the world of the workshops of the painters of the 19th century in Paris, Naples and Rome. Its third novel, a Small Golden Legend , in 2005, occurs at our time, between Yale University, Washington DC, Italy and the Central Europe. It is once again an artistic adventure since the main character, Carlo, seek to reconstitute a table of the Sienan Renaissance whose fragments are dispersed throughout the world. In 2006, it published With bottom the night! , history of a bequeathed imaginary private collection, by an eccentric richissime which resembles much Peggy Guggenheim, a young very gifted and very mysterious boy, kind of Gatsby resulting from the world from the suburbs. Several of the books of Adrien Goetz were translated into foreign languages, Italian, Portuguese and English.
Adrien Goetz collaborates for various reasons of press in the artistic field. A long time chronicler for the review the Eye and in Zurban , weekly magazine of the Parisian cultural life, it writes today in the columns of Art schools Magazine .
Adrien Goetz carries out in parallel of the voluntary activities within a humane governmental organization, Patrimoine without Borders, of which he was the general secretary and of which he is the vice-president today. The mission of Inheritance without borders is to defend the “forgotten inheritance”, in countries like the Lebanon, the Cameroun, the Albania or the Kosovo.
