Adrian Smith

Adrian Smith (Adrian H Frederik Smith), British musician born the February 27th 1957 with London, is one of the guitarists of the group of heavy metal Iron Maiden. With beginning of the year 70, it takes its first steps in the group Stone Free (in homage to Jimi Hendrix) then in Evil Ways with in particular his friend Dave Murray, with whom it had bought his first guitar. After the separation of Evil Ways in 1974, it plays (song and voice) during six years with the group Urchin, until spring 1980, then joined for a few months transitory Broadways Brats.

It joined Iron Maiden in October 1980, requested by Dave Murray to replace Dennis Stratton, and takes part in the recording of the albums since Killers until Seventh Its off has Seventh Its. It leaves the group in reasons of dissensions with Steve Harris, which intends to see Iron Maiden returning to less conceptual albums.

Adrian records then an album solo with Adrian Smith and Project (ASaP) called Silver and Gold in 1989. This group formed with the old ones of Urchin will not last. It founds the Untouchables group which will name then Psycho Motel the time of two albums. Lastly, it finds the singer Bruce Dickinson who had left itself Iron Maiden in 1994. In 1999, Smith and Dickinson are reinstated in Iron Maiden for the “ED Hunter turn”, a promotional tour of the Video game éponyme, based on “Eddie” the mascot of Iron Maiden.

Adrian Smith composed several songs of Iron Maiden, and has even assured the song on a title, “Reach out”, published on the face B of individual “the Wasted years”.
