Adrian Lyne

Adrian Lyne is a realizer and producing British, born the March 4th 1941 with Peterborough (Great Britain).

Biography

It begins a prolific career from realizer of publicities before being brought to the feature film: Foxes in 1980 but especially Flashdance (1983) where it into practice puts its know-how acquired on the pubs, namely a dynamic assembly alternating plane very tight and outraged framings. The success of 9 weeks 1/2 and of fatal Liaison makes a sulfurous scenario writer of it, but its setting in bombastic scene does not make a subtle scenario writer of it (one will reproach even fatal Liaison his aspect moved moralizer). When it attacks the history of a veteran of the Vietnam haunted by strange hallucinations ( the Jacob's ladder , 1990), Lyne becomes more inspired, not hesitating to borrow from Francis Bacon his black imagery and maladivement deformed. But it quickly turns over to a not very interesting commercial cinema in the vein of fatal Liaison with indecent Proposition (with Robert Redford). Its adaptation of Lolita (1997), just like Inaccurate (2002), does not testify to the talent which emerged in its best film to date, the Jacob's ladder .
