Adolph Green , born the December 2nd 1914 with New York and deceased the October 23rd 2002 in New York is a lyric writer, a playwright and an American actor . It made most of its career in collaboration with Betty Comden.

It is born in the Bronx, his parents, Daniel and Helen Weiss Green, are Hungarian. He attends the public school, writing of poetry, plays the comedy and is set on reading. Á the University of New York, it studies the theater and meets Judy Holliday and Betty Comden in 1938. All three assemble a number of cabaret, The Revuers .

The duet Comden and Green was many successes, in particular with three of the most famous musical comedies of the Subway-Goldwyn-Mayer: One the town (One day in New York), Singing in the rain (Let us sing under the rain) and The band coach (All in scene).

In 1989, Adolph Green incarnates Joey Wellman, an author of cartoon forgotten, in the film I Want to Go Home, of Alain Resnais - large impassioned musical comedies.

Nominated (only) twice with the Oscars, it gained seven Tony Award.
