Adolf Bernard Meyer is a Médecin and a German Naturaliste , born in 1840 with Hamburg and died in 1911 with Berlin.

After its studies, it starts to travel on its own expenses. It thus carries out immense collections in the Célèbes, the Filipino , the New Guinea like in Suisse, with the Netherlands and the Denmark. Meyer is director of the zoological, anthropological and ethnographic Natural history museum of Dresden of 1874 with 1906. It constitutes an important collection of birds for the natural history museum of the Senckenbergische Naturforschende Gesellschaft. He is in particular the author of Die Wissens Ansicht… (Leipzig, 1870).
