Administrative district of Mouscron

The administrative district of Mouscron is one of the seven administrative districts of the Province of Hainaut in Belgium.

This administrative district belongs to the legal Arrondissement of Turned.

History

The district of Mouscron was created in 1963 after the final fixing of the linguistic border in Belgium. Old communes of Houtain, Comines, Bas-Warneton, Ploegsteert (as well as the hamlet " Key of Hollande" commune of New-Church) and Warneton were transferred from the administrative Arrondissement of Ypres; communes of Dottignies, Herseaux, Luingne and Mouscron (as well as the hamlet of " Let us risk-Tout" commune of Rekkem) were transferred from the administrative Arrondissement of Courtrai.
