Administrative contest

A administrative contest is a contest which makes it possible to be recruited by the administration.

Various levels, the administrative contests are addressed to candidates eager to exert their Compétence S in the Public sector. The trades accessible by success to a administrative Concours are very diverse and are exerted on several levels of Responsabilité.

In France

There exists in the French Public office three categories of Fonctionnaires.

; Category a: functions of Framing and direction (administrative contest of Attached or territorial, Inspector of the treasure, Inspector of the customs, Magistrate, director of hospital, Officer of gendarmerie, Police superintendent, Factory inspector, etc)

; Category b: functions known as " of application" correspondent on a level of junior staff (contest of administrative secretaries, Controller of the treasure, Controller of the taxes, territorial writer, Technician)

; Category C: functions known as " of exécution" (contest of assistant or Administrative officer).

These trades or " body " or frameworks of employment (Statutory denomination of the trades of Civil servant S) are exerted within the three Public office French:

  • Public office of State (Ministry S, Prefecture S, academies),
  • Territorial public function: The whole of the territorial collectivities and their public corporations (of co-operation or autonomous) examples: (general district councils and conseis, common S, the Communities of communes and Urban communities),
  • hospital Public office (Hospital, ministry for Health).

The age limit is often 45 years (except for the FPT where there does not exist higher age limit apart from the retirement age). For certain employment, this limit can be lowered to 35 or 30 years.
