Adecco
Adecco (), Undertaken multinational, was born in 1996 from fusion from the French Ecco and from the Suisse Adia. It is the world number one of temporary work. Its head office is located at Glattburg, in the Canton of Zurich, in Suisse.
In 2005, it employed 33.000 paid, has more than 250.000 temporary customers and recruiting 700.000 per day. Present in 75 countries, its turnover 2006 reached some 20,4 billion euros for an operating profit of 611 million euros (2006).
In January 2004, the group revealed the discovery in its accounts of irregularities obliging it to push back sine die the publication of its financial results. This advertisement frightened the investors and caused a fall of 48% of its stock exchange courts. According to press release: “ the reasons of the delay taken by the realization of the audit include (...) the identification of material weaknesses in internal controls of the North-American activities of Adecco Staffing ” which generated a quarter of the Turnover group.
It proved in fact that no irregularity had been made and all the engaged activities by the Boursières authorities gave place to a complete withdrawal of case.
In November 2005, Klaus J Jacobs took again the company in hand by taking the station of CEO of the company and by acquiring most of the actions of Philippe Foriel-Destezet who then left his functions of Copresident of Adecco while remaining member of the Board of directors.
Beginning 2006, while carrying out several strategic acquisitions in Germany and Russia, Addeco sets up a new structure of direction targeted on six world branches of industry, charged managing and with marketing the principal services of the Group, including/understanding temporary recruitment, permanent recruitment, the solutions of projects and the services of subcontracting, namely: Adecco Finances & Legal; Adecco Engineering & Technical; Adecco Technology Information; Medical Adecco & Scientific; Adecco Dirty, Marketing & Vents and Adecco Human Capital Solutions.
Adecco is the world n° 1 services of temporary and permanent placement of personnel. CA by activity is distributed as follows:
- placement of personnel general practitioner: bound for the sectors of the bank, electronics, distribution, pharmaceutical chemical industry and télécoms;
- placement of specialized personnel: qualified personnel in the fields of data processing, engineering, accountancy, finance, the administration and Health;
- services of management of careers: services of reintegration and accompaniment of career, formation to the framing, personal and management consultant.
N° 1 of the Interim in Europe and to the the United States (world market share of 13%) is also leader in the recruitment of collaborators in TDCI.
With end 2005, the group has a network of 6.600 agencies in the world. The geographical distribution of CA is the following one: Europe (65,5%), North America (21,5%), the Asia-Pacific (10,7%) and others (2,3%).
