Adama Dramé is a brukinabé percussionnist born in 1954 in Nouna, Burkina-Faso.

Biography

Adama Dramé was born with Nouna with the Burkina Faso in 1954, in a family of musicians and storytellers, guards of the tradition, Djelis, which one names Griot in French. Of culture Malinké, he becomes professional musician as of the twelve years age. He makes his training in the traditional cérmonies (births, baptisms, marriages…). Become Master-Djembé, Adama asserts his African identity and its fidelity with its traditions. Griot of today, it knew to communicate this love of the tradition, the music and Africa on scenes of the whole world. Since 1979, it propagates its knowledge and science of its instrument (the Djembé) of Africa in Europe while passing by America. Its gifts of pedagog brought it during his training courses and master class to train many percussionnists. Adama Drama itself, its instrument and its musicians ignited many spectacles mixing the music, dances and songs. These multiple voyages led it to open with other cultures, other musics and especially to collaborate with European musicians such as: the Royal one of Luxury, Andre Ceccarelli, Bernard Lubat, Marc Calved, New Ensemble of Amsterdam, Jean-Philippe Riquiel, the troop Black Blancs Beurs, or the Percussions of Strasbourg…
