Adainville

Adainville is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called the Adainvillois .

Geography

The commune of Adainville is located in the median west of the department, with the western limit of the main forest of Rambouillet. It is, by the road, with approximately 43 kilometers in the west of Versailles and with approximately 34 kilometers in the south of Mantes-the-Pretty, the chief town of district. Houdan, chief town of canton, is with 12 kilometers with north and Rambouillet with 21 kilometers in south-east.

In addition to the borough, the habitat is distributed in five hamlets, Beautiful-Air , Jaunière , Sergontières , Mesle and Breuil   ; this last, very excentré, is shared with the communes of Grandchamp and Cop-on-Vesgre.

The lmitrophes communes are Cop-on-Vesgre in north and the east, the Boissière-School in the south, Hauteville in south-west and Grandchamp in the west.

The commune is crossed by the secondary road 71 which carries out, towards north, with Cop-on-Vesgre and, towards the south, with the Boissière-School and Mittainville. The remainder of the roadway system is exclusively local.

In the railway plan, the station the SNCF nearest is the Gare of Houdan to a dozen kilometers in north.

Administration

History

The communal territory, since XIIe century until the French revolution, belonged to the goods of the regular Chanoine S of the Abbaye of Grandchamp.

Economy

The resources of the commune primarily rural, are shared between agriculture, breeding and forestry development.

Culture

  • Castle of Jaunière of the XIXe century.
  • the Saint-Denis church, built in XIIIe century and whose frame dates from XVIe century was classified historic building in 1909. It contains sculptures which are also classified, two credences of the XVIIIe century, two wood statuettes of XIXe and the tombstone of Jean Morant died in 1565.
