Adad
Adad is the god of the Storm of the old Mésopotamie. It generally represents the climatic elements, of which rain. For this reason, it seems a god of the fertility. This aspect is marked by its animal-symbol, the bull. It divides these features with its hanging amorrite (Addu), hourrite (Teshub), araméen (Hadad). Into Low-Mésopotamie, it is compared to the god sumérien Ishkur, who however has a destroying aspect more marked. The god of the Storm is generally the large god of the ancient people of High Mésopotamie, Syria and Anatolia.
From the genealogical point of view, Adad is the son of Anu - the Sky - and of Ki - Earth - and its parèdre is Shalla.
