Acute solar Retinopathy
The acute solar retinopathy is a ophtalomologic pathology related to an intense exposure of the eye to the radiation Ultraviolet (the GRAPE ones).
This pathology is also called " blindness of eclipse " because it generally occurs at the time of the solar eclipses.
Indeed, at the moment when the moon passes in front of the sun and causes its partial or total disappearance, the subject with the impression which it can observed the phenomenon in full safety. However, part of the sun radiation, as negligible as it is carries on its road.
The pupil being dilated considerably, the GRAPE ones penetrate in great quantity through the iris and reach the central part of the Rétine: the Mackled. It follows of the burns on the level of the cones (and their destruction) thus q' a loss of the vision.
The patient then notes the appearance of a central Scotome (gap in the field of vision which can be perceived like a spot).
