Acts of the Apostles

The Acts of the Apostles are the fifth book of the New Testament.

Same author as the Gospel according to Luc, they start with the Ascension followed then Pentecost and report the beginnings of the primitive Église. One can distinguish two principal parts known as cycles pétrinien and cycles paulinien. The first cycle brings back facts where the Pierre apostle is the main character; the second those where the Paul apostle is.

The entitled book Acts of the Apostles is the second part of a work written by Luc with Theophilus. The first part is the Gospel according to Luc.

Beginning of separation enters the Judaïsme and Christianity

The Acts of the Apostles report the beginning of separation between the two first (in the chronological order) religions monotheists.

Studies were undertaken on the Acts in order to include/understand these texts up to what point, and their interpretation in the Histoire, led to a Christian Antijudaïsme. One of the specialists in this question is Daniel Marguerat.
