Active school bilingual Jeannine-Handbook

The active École bilingual Jeannine-Handbook (EABJM) is a French educational establishment being presented in the form of a most important nondenominational private school of France. It accommodates the children from 4 to 18 years i.e. starting from the Maternelle until the passage of the baccalaureat.

Origins

In 1954, Jeannine Manuel created the Bilingual Active École to achieve the mission which it had set the shortly after the war: to work with international comprehension by bilingual education, the mixing of the cultures and a constant teaching innovation with the listening of the world.

This school counts today 2.500 pupils, divided into five establishments.

A foundation Jeannine Manuel was founded under the aegis of the Fondation of France, in order to propose grants, and to preserve at the school the means of remaining pionnière in the field of the teaching innovation.

Operation of the school

The school is governed by a association subjected to the law of 1901, with nonlucrative goal (but until there was a few years a public limit company with the capital of 11.000.000 E). It signed a Contract of association with the State, which enables him to profit from teachers of the State education and to receive subsidies. The other services offered are financed by the families, the cost of the schooling remaining extremely high.

Its characteristic is to be Bilingue, and of many courses are exempted there in English, taught with the children as of their more young age. This allows the pupils, French or foreigners, to acquire a good English level. The school also makes it possible to learn from many languages, like Chinese, and to pass the International Vat, as well as examinations of Cambridge.

The school is made up of several establishments, in Paris and Lille. In Paris, the principal buildings are 65 and 70 rue du Théâtre, in the XVème district of Paris, with two appendices for the nursery schools and primary street Edgar-Faure and avenue of Suffren. The school of Lille (maternal, primary and secondary) comprises also a boarding school.
