A actinolite is a calcic Amphibole ferromagnésienne. Its chemical formula is: Ca_2 (Mg, Fe) _5 (OH, F) _2_2 \, . Its name comes from the Greek aktis , ray.

Characteristics: rather rare prismatic crystals. Aggregates out of lengthened rods.
