Acrididae

The acrididés ( Acrididae ) are one of Criquet S of Caelifera.

Note about taxonomy

Of the Oedipodinae is sometimes classified in the family of the Oedipodidae, which forms with the Acrididae Acridoidea.

Morphology

The size of the acridiens varies from 7 mm to 12 cm. They are characterized by three morphological characters:

of the antennas short and formed of a small number of articles,
a body of big shot made up of robust and short valves,
the absence of apparatus stridulatoire on the élytres similar to that of the Cricket S.

The acridiens have a unit structural founded on three Tagme S fundamental which make it possible to recognize them in spite of their variety of aspects:

the head is made up of 6 Métamère S,
the Thorax of 3 métamères,
the Abdomen of 11 métamères.
