Acigné

Acigné ( Breton Egineg in ) is a common French, located in the department of Ille-et-Vilaine and the area Brittany.

Its inhabitants names the Acignolais .

Geography

Acigné is located at the confluence of Unpleasant and the Goat.

History

Certain objects, in particular of the polished stone axes going back to 3500 before JC for a long time prove the site of a village on this site. The hamlet is évangélisé in IVe century. In 1010, the stronghold will be yielded by the vicar Rivallon, baron de Vitré, with his son third born; Renaud.

During the revolution, the center of the village will be partly destroyed by a troop of national guards in 1792. In the beginning, the inhabitants had sympathized with the priest anti-revolutionist, which was worth this act of repression to them.
