Achilles Peretti

Achille Peretti is a politician French, born the June 13rd 1911 with Ajaccio and deceased the April 14th 1983 with Neuilly-sur-Seine.

Biography

He studies the right to Montpellier and is lawyer with Ajaccio. He takes part in the Résistance. In 1944, he is assistant editor of the national security near the government of Algiers. It ensures the protection of the Général de Gaulle at the time of the days of August 1944 Paris.

It occupies various responsibilities in the economic life: chair newspaper the Intransigent , mining company of Is-Oubangui as well as French Company of the Top and Low-Congo.

Achille Peretti is to advise French Union of 1952 with 1958. He is elected appointed UNR of the the Seine in 1958 and constantly re-elected under the various labels gaullists (UD-Ve République, UDR). He is elected president of the National Assembly the June 25th 1969, to replace Jacques Chaban-Delmas, is appointed Prime Minister. He chairs this assembly during the remainder of the 4th legislature until April 1st 1973. After the elections, he does not manage to preserve the presidency of the National Assembly which falls to Edgar Faure but remains appointed. He is then named member of the Constitutional council the March 4th 1977. He sits there until his death.

He was vice-president of the General advice of the Corsica of 1945 with 1951, mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine of 1947 to his death and general adviser of the Hauts-de-Seine.

He is also known to have been the political father of Nicolas Sarkozy which was its successor with the town hall of Neuilly-sur-Seine after its death.
