Achilles Lemot
Achilles Lemot , born with Rheims on December 31st, 1846, died in Asnières-sur-Seine (the Seine) on September 20th, 1909.
Wished Achilles Valentine, said Achilles Lemot, stock exchange College of Rheims raises, raises André Gill, was a draftsman of talent, known also under the pseudonym of Uzès. It was made famous for the novel of Alphonse Daudet “Sapho” which took as a starting point its unhappy history. By love, he became forger. The Court of Assizes condemned it to 10 years of reclusion for the emission of counterfeit bills of Banque de France. It illustrated the works of Charles Leroy, the brother-in-law of Alphonse Allais, with tasty drawings of désopilant Colonel Ramollot. Illustrator of many newspapers, he was the appointed collaborator of the Pèlerin of 1884 with his death.
