Achillée

The kind Achillea (achillées ) gathers various plants of the family of the Astéracées (or Composed) of which most known is the Achillée cream slice ( Achillea millefolium ). The name of the kind corresponds to Latin achillea , itself borrowed from the Greek akhileios , grass of Achille. The Greek hero would have cured Télèphe, which it itself had wounded, using achillée the cream slice.

Characteristics of the kind

Long-lived herbaceous plants with Sheet S alternate. As for all composed, what is called commonly “flower” is a capitulates. The flowerheads of achillées are made of a disc of tubulées flowers hermaphrodites surrounded by female ligulées flowers. The ligulas, almost always white, are rather short, generally with three teeth. Very many on the plant, the flowerheads are grouped in inflorescences called Corymbe S. the Fruit S are Akène S.
