Achang

The Achang (), so known under the name of Ngac' ang or Maingtha form a Ethnicity. They belong to the 56 Nationalités of China officially recognized by the Popular republic of China.

One counted approximately: 34000 Achang at the end of the 20th century, whose it quasi totality are province of the Yunnan, in particular of the autonomous prefecture of Dehong.

The language achang belongs to the group known as " milk-Burmese " branch tibéto-Burmese of the Languages sino-Tibetans. Achang do not have a specific writing, and use the Chinese ideograms.

Speaking a distinct dialect, Husa Achang live in the county of Longchuan, in the province of Yunnan (also in Dehong). They are considered distinct from Achang and sought in the Années 1950 with being recognized like a different ethnos group. Husa are sinicized than other Achang. For example, the shelves confucéennes with the memory of the ancestors are common in the Husa hearths. Husa most traditional believe in a mixture of Bouddhisme theravāda and Taoïsme.
