See also: Achaïos
In the Greek Mythology, Achaïos or Achéos (in Greek old Ἀχαιός / Akhaiós , in Latin Achæus ), wire of Xouthos and Digs, is the brother of Ion and the hero éponyme of the Achaens.
The accounts are contradictory relating to it: according to Strabon, it exiles Attique in Lacédémone (Sparte) after having killed a man involuntarily; but Pausanias (VII, 1,3) reports that after the death of Xouthos, it joined the Thessalie where it recovers the throne of his father, with the support of Athens and of Égialée (where Xouthos had taken refuge).
It has two wire, Archandre and Architélès.
(I, 7,3).
