Acergy

The group Acergy is specialized in offshore oil rig engineering parapétrolière. The name of Acergy was created in January 2006 and is resulting from the contraction of Latin Acer (who wants to say " pointu" or " Tranchant") and of the last syllable of the English word Energy .

The core activity of the group is the design, the manufacture and the installation of systems bottom-surface for the oil infrastructures offshore oil rigs

The head office of Acergy is with Sunbury-one-Thames in the suburbs of London however this group is not precise nationality. Acergy was called Stolt Offshore and was before subsidiary of the Norwegian Group Stolt. Stolt Offshore resulted from fusion from Stolt, Comex, Seaway, and ETPM (Stores Great Work of Marseilles for Maritime Oil Work). Recently the Stolt group left the shareholding of Stolt Offshore and the capital was resold with various pension funds, which caused to split up it, and involved the creation of a new name.

Currently the Acergy group is an independent group directed by French Thomas Ehret, established everywhere in the world:

The greatest part of the sales turnover is generated by the African projects, to particuleir some with the Nigeria and in Angola.

Its main customers are the large world oil groups: Exxon Mobil, Rafter Corporation, British Petroleum, Shell, Total).
