Ralph Bakshi (born the October 29th 1938 with Haifa in Palestine) is a realizer, mainly of film but cartoon films also with real actors.
Its family emigrates in 1939 with New York. After studies in the industrial art, it begins with Terrytoons. It leaves then to Paramount Pictures where it carries out some experimental short-measurings of animation without much impact. Following the closing of Paramount, it founds Ralph' S Spot and carries out the first animated series Spiderman. It adapts then Fritz the Cat , which is the first cartoon film to have been prohibited at least 18 years.
Ralph Bakshi frequently uses the Rotoscopie in its films, in particular in American Pop , entirely realized with this technique.
It is generally considered that it inspired the character of the salesman of cartoons of the Simpson.
He currently lives with Santa Fe where he paints.
