Acadian peninsula
The acadian Peninsula (also known locally under name the Peninsula ), is an area located at the north-eastern end of the New Brunswick. It is bordered in north by the Baie of Heats and in the east by the Golfe of the St. Lawrence.
Description
The area gathers the municipalities in the part is county of Gloucester, between Large-Handle and Tracadie-Sheila; the western part of the county being rather known under the name of Area Heat . Certain territorial cuttings, in particular at the school level, associate with it the communities Acadiennes located in the county of Northumberland, of the southern limit of the county of Gloucester with Neguac.The acadian Peninsula is, with the Madawaska, the French-speaking area of New Brunswick.
The area will accommodate the 4th acadian World congress, of the 7 to the August 23rd 2009.
