Academy with regional radiation of Metz

The Conservatoire with regional radiation ( or C 2R ) Gabriel Pierné of Metz is an academy specialized in the teaching of the Musique, the Danse and the Théâtre.

History

It is into 1835 that the Municipal council of the city voted the creation of a music school. The project was carried out and the first director was Victor Desvignes.

The room was regarded as branch of the Conservatoire of Paris the August 16th 1841 thanks to the increase in school.

In 1854, with died of Mr. Desvignes, Mr. Mouzin replaced it.

The Academy became a National school of Music on June 4th, 1937, following a convention between the city and the Minister for State education. In September 1969 the Music school becomes Regional Conservatoire of Music.

At this time, the Academy is developed considerably and the buildings become too small. The city then bought Ancient Couvent Good Pasteur in order to there amménager an appendix. Finally, instead of building another building, the Town of Metz decided to renovate the Convent to transform the appendix into Academy.
