The Academy of Science of Overseas is a Learned society created in 1922 whose sphere of activity relates to mainly the Géographie and the general Histoire in Africa, Latin America, Asia, Oceania.

History

Created in 1922 by Paul Bourdarie with an aim of studying the problems specific to the countries of Overseas, it bears initially the name of colonial Academy of Science . It is in June 1957 that it takes the name of Academy of Science of Overseas.

Missions

The Academy of Science of Overseas has in its library more than 70.000 works which in fact a source of reference with regard to the culture of the old colonies and overseas territories.

It also decrees prices rewarding for the studies concerning Overseas
