A Academy of Science is a Learned society whose role is to promote the Scientific research by joining together some of the Enquiring S most eminent, while holding of the meetings during which work is presented and by publishing reports of these meetings in the form of scientific magazines.

The first academies of sciences as such are created at the 17th century in Europe (Italy, Prussia, England, France) at the time of the rise of the scientific discoveries. Their role is to promote the Scientific research by joining together some of the Enquiring S most eminent, while holding of the meetings during which work is presented and by publishing reports of these meetings in the form of scientific magazines. Certain academies also have a role of organization and Financement of research by managing institutes, by employing researchers or by financing research programs.
