Academy of Orleans-Turns (education)
The academy of Orleans-Turns was created on January 2nd 1962 and bears the name of its two universities. The Rectorat is located at Orleans just like the Regional headquarters. Its services are distributed in seven distinct sites.
the principal site is 21 rue St Etienne in Orleans, near to the Préfecture, the District council of the Cathédrale.
The academy recovers the territory of the Région Centers and gathers thus 6 departments and as many school inspectorates:
- the Expensive
- the Eure-et-Loir
- the Indre
- the Indre-et-Loire
- the Loir-et-Cher
- the Loiret.
Its surface is of 31.160 km ², which represents 1/14ème national territory. Its extent the place in third position among the 30 French Academies, after those of Toulouse and Bordeaux.
