Academy of Mâcon
The Academy of Arts Sciences and Beautiful Letters of Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire), known as “Academy of Mâcon”, is one of the most prestigious provincial academies of France. It was governed the XIXe century by the poet and politician Alphonse of Lamartine. It has a real inheritance very important, classified historic building, and shelters the Lamartine museum of Mâcon.
Founded in 1805, recognized public utility in 1829, it already published before its Bicentenary, hundred twenty-six volumes of annals summarizing work of its members. It distributes a literary quinquennial price and decrees at the time of the “Biennial Lamartine” of the Town of Mâcon the Trophy " Wings of Expérience".
