Academic recognition in Belgium of the diplomas obtained abroad
The academic recognition is an official confirmation of the equivalence of two Diplôme S. There is no difference in procedure between the diplomas obtained in Economic space European and the other countries. However, the recognition of the diplomas for the citizens of the Union is made compulsory
Conditions
In the French Community of Belgium
The criteria for the academic recognition are:- the structures of teaching abroad
- the level of the institution
- the training level
- the duration of the formation
- This means that to obtain the academic recognition, the duration of the studies abroad must be equivalent to the duration in Belgium.
The documents required for the introduction of the request for recognition vary according to the country of origin of the candidate,

For the finished secondary studies. The costs of proceedings rise with 123,95 €.
- For partial studies with 24,79 €.

For a recognition of higher education, the costs of proceedings rise with 123,95 €. The procedure will be enclosed on the basis of complete records after maximum 4 months.
Financial aid
The Coordination and Initiatives for Refugees and Foreign is a Non-profit-making association in French-speaking Belgium the purpose of which is in particular to intervene financially in the assumption of responsibility of these costs of proceedings for the procedure of equivalence required by the French Community for the Réfugié S and the foreign which has financial temporary difficulties to be able to honor these expenses. However, the foreign term could in this context include/understand like foreigner with the European Citoyenneté: The conditions posed by the national right for the granting of a help covering the maintenance costs of the students must be independent of the nationality of the citizens of the EU.
Note on the context of the European Union

If, on the basis of evaluation which is made, the authorization is refused, this refusal must be justified in a form which indicates the reasons clearly on which it is founded and being likely to be checked jurisdictional making it possible to check its legality compared to the Community legislation.
