Abrantes (in French Abrantès) is a city of the Portugal (area of Lisbon-Valley-of-Tage the) of the District of Santarém. It rises on a hill to 800 m of Right Bank of the Tage. Chief town of a canton of 45.000 inhabitants.

Delicious sight, superb church of St-Vincent. Big business out of corns, oils, fruits. This city is one of the boulevards of Lisbon.

Foundries.

Junot seized in 1807, and accepted it in reward the title of Duc of Abrantès.

During the summer 2005 it was touched hard by the fires.
