Abraham Serfaty
Born with Casablanca (Morocco) in 1926, Abraham Serfaty , resulting from a Moroccan Jewish family tangéroise, militates in the Moroccan communist rows as of 1944 and at the time of its stay in metropolis in the rows of the PCF of 1945 with 1949. It militates ardently for the independence of its country, which is worth to him to be imprisoned in 1950, and placed under house arrest in 1956. It takes part then in the installation of the institutions of the Moroccan State, at stations more technical than political, then in teaching he is indeed mining engineer of formation. In 1970, it breaks with a Moroccan Communist party (current PS) which it regards as too sclerosed and takes part in the foundation of the organization of extreme left Ila Al Amame ( ahead ) (current the democratic Way, Year-nahj AD-dimoukrati ). Decree and tortured by the mode of Hassan II in 1972, it enters then clandestinity until a new arrest in 1974, which will last 17 years, until September 1991 where it is released, expelled and deprived of its Moroccan nationality under pretext which it would be Brazilian (his/her father, originating in Morocco, resided a few years in this country). In September 2000, it is authorized by the new king Mohammed VI to return to the country, and its Moroccan nationality is recognized officially and without possible dispute.
Abraham Serfaty forms part, with Ilan Halévy, of rare Juifs séfarades which does not recognize themselves in the Zionism, as in the past the Egyptian Communist Henri Curiel.
