Sidi Abou Madyane Choaïb Ben Al-Ansari of Al-Houssein (1126-1198) was a professor, a disciple, an author and a poet of the Soufisme. He is the founder of the initiatory independent source of the Sufism the Maghreb and the Andalusia. He was born in Cantillama in the area from Seville and is deceased with Tlemcen. He was the spiritual guide of Abdeslam Ben Mchich Alami. Abu Madyan was still young when it moved with the Morocco, it lived in Sebta, Tangier and Marrakech. It received its religious education with Fès, where it was subject to the influence of the lesson of Al-Jilani, Abu Yaza and Al-Ghazali (through Ibn Hrizim, and of Abu Bakr Ibn Al main Arabi of Abu Yaza). After its pilgrimage with the Mecque and its studies with the the Middle East, it turns over to teach in Bougie (now Algérie). He is the holy owner of Tlemcen. Its mausoleum and the mosque close to this city is chiefs of work of art Mérinides. Ibn Arabî called Abou Madyane “the professor of the professors”.
