Its Chef-lieu is the town of the Saar. It is made up of 23 Municipalité S: 3 cities, 15 municipalities, 1 canton, 2 not organized parishes and 2 territories. Its current prefect (2005) is Daniel Rancourt, his substitute is Pierre Vachon.
