The Abhidhamma Pitaka (Faded, Sanskrit: Abhidharma) - literally “special doctrines” or “above teaching” - is the section of the gun Pâli, the Tipitaka, devoted to the psychological and philosophical talks of the teaching of the Bouddha.

More precisely, Abhidhamma treats cosmology, psychological analysis, classification of the phenomena and metaphysics.

The historical approach makes think that it was written after the first two baskets, contrary of the traditional sight which dates its drafting from the first council.
