Abel Boyer

Abel Boyer (v. 1664 with Castrate - November 16th 1729) is a Lexicographe, historian and translator French.

Refugee Huguenot, it emigrated in England in 1689.

One has of him:

  • a royal Dictionary François-anglois, and anglois-François (1702);
  • a Grammaire angloise-Francoise (1745) which knew many reprintings.

It published also historical works in English and translated into French the Caton of Joseph Addison and into English the Adventures of Télémaque of Fénelon.
