Abdias (in Hebrew: עֹבַדְיָה - that which serves God ) is the fourth of the twelve minor prophets. He is the author of one of the books of the Tanakh or Old Testament. He left only one chapter where he predicts the ruin of the Idumée NS.
He would have lived, like Jérémie, at the time of the Captivité of Babylon, towards 600 av. J. - C..
One has, under the name of an other Abdias of Babylon , a compilation apocryphal book on the History of the apostles , which appears to be of Ve century.
