Abdel Wael Zwaiter

Abdel Wael Zwaiter was a Palestinian translator, first target killed by Israel at the time of the Opération Anger of God following the Prise hostages of the Olympic Games of Munich in 1972. Its implication with the taking of hostages remains however dubious.

Biography

Abdel Wael Zwaiter was born with Nablus in 1935. Wire of the historian Adel Zwaiter, he studies the Philosophie and the Arab Littérature with the Université of Baghdad.

Speaking five different languages; , it settles then in Libya, then with Rome like representative of the Fatah and the PLO and translator with the lybian embassy. During its stay in Italy, it translates Thousand and One Nights into Italian. He was married with an Australian and attended the Italian left wing.

In August 1972, it is questioned by the Italian police force following an attack conducted by the group Palestinian black September , but it is released. It is suspecté by the Mossad to be with the head from black September to Rome, and it is put on the list of the people to eliminate after the Prise hostages from the Olympic Games from Munich. The night of the October 16th 1972, two Israeli agents draw on him 12 balls at the entry from its building.
