Abdalwadides

The Abdalwadides , also called Zianides , Zyanides or Banu Zayan , are a dynasty Berbère Zénète having reigned on Tilimsen (current Tlemcen, in the west of the Algérie) of 1236 with 1512, founded by Yghomracen Ibn Zyan and whose extent of the Kingdom preceded current Algeria.

Abdalwadides, were driven back towards the high plains of Oranie by the invasion of the Hilaliens in 1051. Named governors of Tilimsen by the Almohades, they assumed an autonomous capacity, thus contributing to the fall of those. They fell later under the domination from their rivals, the Mérinides of Fes (1337), then the Hafsides of Tunis (end of the 15th century), but each time for a short duration before being eliminated with difficulty by the Othoman S in 1554 (Death of Aaroudj Barberousse and later died of his/her brother, Ishaq) at the time of the decline and collapse of the 3 dynasties of the Maghreb.
