History
The monastery was founded in 1850 by the Father Jean-Baptiste Muard (1809-1854), priest of the diocese of Sens. Seized by the balance of life which she proposes between work and prayer, he returns to France in 1848 with his the first two companions and carries out his monastic noviciate with the Trappe of Aiguebelle. In 1850, it installs its community incipient in the forests from the Morvan, in the south of the Département of Yonne, with the locality “Pierre-which-Transfers It”. The Muard Father dies the June 19th 1854, at the 45 years age.A score of brothers then composes the community which knows a rapid expansion.
Forced with the exile in 1880, then in 1904, the community finds its monastery only in 1921 and left it since more.
Pierre-which-Transfers It gave rise to many monasteries both in France and abroad (the United States, England, Vietnam, Madagascar, Congo).
