Abbey of Pavilly
The abbey of Pavilly was founded in 662 to be a monastery of women by Saint Philibert, abbot of Jumièges. The first abbess was Sainte Austreberthe come from the abbey of Port-the-Large on the Somme. She made build three churches dedicated to the Vierge, holy Martin and holy Pierre. The monastery was destroyed by the Norman ones at the 9th century and was rebuilt in 1090 for monks Benedictines. Given up in 1717, its vault was repurchased and returned to the worship in 1860.
