Abbey of Flines

Origin

() There was with Flines-lez-Raches a Abbaye which was demolished with the revolution; the last vestiges disappeared from it in the middle of the 19th century. Founded by Marguerite of Constantinople, countess of Flanders towards 1234, it was the place of burial of several counts of Flanders of the dynasty of Dampierre. The supposed ones (farms) of the abbey still exist with Faumont, Nomain, Coutiches, Cantin, Lambersart and Howardries (Belgium)
