Abbey of Andechs

The Abbaye of Andechs is famous a German Abbaye Bénédictine Trappist of the village of Andechs in Bavaria to 40 km in the western south of Munich.

Founded in 1455, the Abbey of Andechs is perched on a height dominating the Lac Ammersee, with approximately 30 monks Bénédictin about St Benoit. The abbey and its church are masterpieces of architecture Baroque and Rococo.

It also has a reputation of " Mecque" Bavarian by the pilgrims amateurs of beer of tradition with its monastic Brewery Trappist of Beer of abbey of tradition and reputation of which it produces 115000 hectolitres per annum with 20 million €uro S of annual sales turnover (figure 2006).
