Abbey of Andechs

The Abbaye of Andechs is famous a German Abbaye Bénédictine Trappist of the village of Andechs in Bavaria to 40 km in the western south of Munich.

Founded in 1455, the Abbey of Andechs is perched on a height dominating the Lac Ammersee, with approximately 30 monks Bénédictin about St Benoit. The abbey and its church are masterpieces of architecture Baroque and Rococo.

It also has a reputation of " Mecque" Bavarian by the pilgrims amateurs of beer of tradition with its monastic Brewery Trappist of Beer of abbey of tradition and reputation of which it produces 115000 hectolitres per annum with 20 million €uro S of annual sales turnover (figure 2006). It manufactures a beer with its name: Klosterbrauerei Andechs: white beer not very bitter pressure of wheat, high fermentation, refreshing. It is strongly consumed in traditional the Biergarten and Brasserie S of Munich. The Abbaye of Andechs also manufactures Beurre, Fromage and Pain.

It is a high place of Pèlerinage Bavarian, of Tourisme and Sunday walk and one of principal tourist attractions of the area of Munich. It also organizes international Séminaire S spiritual for managers of company (spiritual management of the Stress).
