Abbas Hachem
Abbas Hachem (born in Tourzaya in 1954) is a politician and a Lebanese business man.
Owner of many commercial groups, it presents to the legislative elections 2000, in alliance with the former ministers Fares Boueiz and Farid Haykal Khazen. He is elected appointed Shiite of Jbeil- Byblos. Critical with regard to the governments of Rafiq Hariri, he votes in 2004 the renewal of the mandate of President Emile Lahoud.
He creates the surprise in spring 2005 by breaking his alliance with his former partners and approaches the general Michel Aoun. It is on its list that he will be re-elected in 2005, also profiting from the implicit support of the Hezbollah. It forms part of the parliamentary opposition today, within the block of the Reform and the Change, directed by Aoun.
