Abbas El Fassi
Abbas El Fassi (born the September 18th 1940 with Berkane with the Morocco) is a Moroccan Politician . Prime Minister for the Morocco since the October 15th 2007.
Biography
Studies
After primary and secondary studies with Kénitra and Tangier, El Fassi continued its higher learning at the university Mohammed V of Reduction where it obtained a License in right in 1963 before becoming lawyer.
Functions occupied
Abbas El Fassi is elected president of the General union of the students of Morocco in 1961. In 1972, he becomes the general secretary of the Moroccan league of the human rights.
In 1973, he is member of the executive office of the Moroccan association of the lawyers. In 1974, it is elected member of the executive committee of the Parti Istiqlal; and re-elected in 1978, and 1982.
In 1983, he is member of the delegation of the party which took part in the meetings of the political parties of the Arab Maghreb, held with Tangier. In 1984, it takes part in those unrolled with Tunis.
In September 1984, he is elected appointed district of Larache to the Chambre of the representatives.
He holds the post of minister of the Habitat and the town and country planning of the October 10th 1977 with the November 4th 1981 and that of Minister for the Craft industry and the social Affairs of the November 5th 1981 with the April 10th 1985.
As of on October 1st 1985, he is ambassador of the Morocco to Tunis and of permanent representative of Morocco near the League of the Arab States at the time where this organization sat in the Tunisian capital.
Then, in 1989, it is re-elected at the station of member of the executive committee of the Parti Istiqlal.
January 21st 1990 with the July 21st 1990, he is the representative of the Morocco to the secretariat of the Union of the Arab Maghreb.
He is the ambassador from Morocco in Paris of 1990 with 1994.
He is the general secretary of the Parti Istiqlal to replace Me hamed Boucetta at the time of the 13th congress of the party, in February 1998.
The September 6th 2000, it holds the post of minister of Employment, Professional training, Social development and of Solidarity, in the government directed by Abderrahman El Yousoufi, this mandate was marked by the scandal of the Annajat business.
The September 7th, at the time of the parliamentary elections of 2007, it is re-elected with the district of Larache.
The September 19th 2007, it was appointed Prime Minister by the king Mohammed VI charged to form a new government. It takes up duty the October 15th.
