Abaya

The Abaya is a Vêtement worn “above the others” by some women Musulman are. It is the traditional form of the Hijab, or the modest dress Islamique, for several countries of the Arabian Gulf. The traditional abayas are black, and can be is a great square of fabrics draped starting from the shoulder S or the head, or a length black Caftan. The abaya should cover completely the body except the face, the feet and the hands. It can be carried with the Niqab, a veil covering all the face except the Yeux.

The Saudi Arabia obliges the women to carry the abaya as a public; the Niqab is optional. The religious police force, the Muttawa, is charged to make apply this obligation.

With the the Middle East (Lebanon, Syria, etc), the abaya is a mixed clothing, used as well by the men as by the women. Full and light, it makes it possible to more easily support heat in summer.
